Back 4 Blood Review: A fun cooperative shooting game with some notable inconveniences

Turtle Rock Studios (formerly called Valve South) is an independent multiproject company, situated in the heart of Orange Region, The Golden State. They prosper in an open and collective atmosphere, which is driven by Chris Ashton and Phil Rob co-founders.

When Atlas 4 blood was announced in 2019, the Turtle Rock Studios developer did not suffer at all the fact that I was looking to create a spiritual successor for Left 4 Dead. The dear Cooperative Series of Zombies Shooting of Valve saw a new entry for the last time almost 12 years ago, and from that moment, fans have been clamoring for a third installment. And while Atlas 4 blood In many ways it is quite different from the franchise that is emulating, it definitely eliminates itch that fans have had for a new game of this type during the last decade.

Very similar Left 4 Dead, Atlas 4 blood has been built from scratch to offer an experience in which you can destroy zombies (or ridden, as you are known) with some friends. The game has a number of unique characters (known as cleaners), weapons and levels in which you will be knocking down hordes of living dead while complete several objectives. Relatively, Atlas 4 blood throw some situations much more unique to players compared to what was seen in l4d. Some of these cases include chief fights, bar fights and the unleashing mass explosions to kill Ridden in large quantities.

Time Atlas 4 blood is clearly trying to be like left 4 dead, there are a number of fairly large differences. Perhaps the most notable of them has to do with the card system that is in the center of the game. In general, Atlas 4 blood have a series of RPG elements that add modifiers to your experience. The card system is the most flagrant example of this, since it allows players to build decks that can then carry with them the different game modes. The letters give your characters different statistics bonuses that can improve your skill to kill zombies. Together, the card system in Atlas 4 blood is incredibly deep due to the large number of letters you can equip and is intended to ensure that each deck that builds will lead to the game much more reproducible.

Atlas 4 blood also contains a system of weapons that is more similar to what you would see in PUBG. Weapons come at different levels, and superior weapons, obviously, help you dispatch the Ridden much more easily. Accessories for these weapons can also increase its general utility and ensure that you always have a unique weapon in your hands.

One of my greatest complaints about Atlas 4 blood is that it feels too dependent on RNG. Since there are so many weapons, accessories and different letters to get, much of the game depends less on the pure skill of what you would expect. For example, I had difficulties with a couple of about 30 levels included in Atlas 4 blood. However, in the races in which a mission could not end, if I was trying again, and I was with a better weapon than before, the tasks in question would be much, much easier. Although skill still plays an important role in Atlas 4 blood, the general difficulty of the game can be compensated by simply stumbling with powerful equipment.

Speaking more of the 32 total missions that have been included in Atlas 4 blood, most of them are quite fun and guarantee that it is always completing a different combination of objectives. That said, the game tends to recycle a handful of levels more than once, which makes the experience insipid sometimes. Even so, even during these missions, there are always a number of different modifiers or encounters with enemies that mix things, which guarantees that almost all levels do not develop in the same way twice.

Back 4 Blood - 10 Things The Game DOESN'T TELL YOU Out of the main levels of the campaign, Atlas 4 blood also has a completely different way called Swarm. This type of game allows players to compete with each other, with four players controlling cleaners while the other four play as Ridden. Basically, this is the PVP mode that has been included in Atlas 4 blood. And although this mode may seem fun on paper, it is the worst part of the game.

The main problem with SWARM is that it feels like a total chaos in the worst way. Many of the maps associated with this mode are too small, which makes the fighting between Ridden and Cleaners feel crowded and devoid of any type of strategy. These small game spaces also make it difficult to play as Ridden, in particular, since it is difficult to find a way to drop the rival players. After venturing a little with Swarm, I quickly found myself bouncing, and I was very happy not to get back.

The thing about Atlas 4 blood what makes it harder to judge comes with how you could play it. In almost every (senses), Atlas 4 blood is a game that is meant to be experienced with friends. My cases in which I played with some friends demonstrated to give me the highest level of enjoyment for several reasons, but mainly because the actual players tended to be much more valuable than the classmates of IA. If you can not form a team with others, the bots will complete your four-person team, although playing in this way is not ideal at all. The bots can essentially help you shoot down enemies, but offer little more in the form of assistance.

Atlas 4 blood is not perfect in any way, but it is absolutely as close as we have been from a new Left 4 Dead game in later years. Queen 4 dead 2. Because of this, it is difficult not to have fun with b4b, even if you do not always feel ingenious and have some notable inconveniences. Despite some repairs, if you are hungry for a new cooperative shooting game that jumping with some friends, Atlas 4 blood has more than enough meat in the bone to keep you entertained for quite some time.
